Music is What We Do

Founded in October 2018 by Evergreen Valley music students, we envision spreading our musicality and technical skills to our community. Our mentors have accumulated many years of experience in music theory and instrument mastery, and are excited to be able to spread their in-depth knowledge of music to you. We, as musicians and mentors, want to spread the love of classical music to the next generation.

We Couldn't Have Done It Without...

Mr. Gary Ortega: Advisor/Mentor

Mr. Ortega has been teaching in the Evergreen School District since 2015. Originally from Northern Nevada, Mr. Ortega wound up in San Jose by way of Santa Cruz. Mr. Ortega received his Single Subject Teaching Credential in Music Education, his MA in Music, and a BM in Jazz Studies from San Jose State University. Prior to that, he received his AA in Music, learning from the outstanding faculty at Cabrillo College. In his spare time, Mr. Ortega...teaches more! He has worked with the local non-profit San Jose Jazz since 2012. His involvement includes work with their Summer Jazz Camp and helping establish their Progressions music program. He's been in a band or two, led his own jazz quartet, and played with many others. He currently freelances and performs with all three ensembles at Ohlone College, including the Wind Orchestra and Mission Peak Brass Band in Fremont, CA. He is currently the band director at Quimby Oak Middle School.



The Executive Team

Timothy Do: Founder/ President

Timothy Do is a senior in the graduating class of 2019 at Evergreen Valley High School.He was the principal ( & only) Euphonium of the Evergreen Valley Wind Ensemble, as well as 3rd chair of the prestigious Santa Clara County Honor Band. He participated his school's marching band for all 4 years, playing the baritone. He has performed in various venues such as the California Theatre in San Jose and Carnegie Hall in New York. In addition to his music work at school and abroad, he produces music videos from school performances and his own playing on YouTube. With his prior musical experience and passion, he is well-equipped to educate the members of the music community here in Evergreen.

Nikhil Seshadri: Co-Founder/ VP

Nikhil Seshadri is a sophomore in the graduating class of 2021 at Evergreen Valley High School. He plays 1st Viola in his school's Advanced String Orchestra. He was one of the few freshmen selected to play with them in the 2018 New York International Music Festival at Carnegie Hall, and has also played with the Mission Chamber Orchestra at the Trianon Theatre. He has also played with the San Jose Youth Symphony Concert Orchestra and is an active member of the student-run Evergreen Valley Youth Orchestra. He loves to write musical arrangements for piano and orchestra. Outside of music, he has a passion for airplanes and aeronautics, playing cricket, helping others become great at what they aspire to learn.

Joshua Qin: Secretary

Joshua Qin is a senior in the graduating class of 2019 at Evergreen Valley High School. His professional background includes a career as the managing director at Foria TV, Pultavi Media, and CORBAL Distribution, working with content creators and music artists across the online media industry. He also leads the Public Forum team at Evergreen Valley High School Speech and Debate. With years of experience managing partners and finances for music distributors and labels, Joshua manages the day-to-day operations at Evergreen Music Members, working behind the scenes to deliver quality service to their users.

Jonathan Nguy: Treasurer

Jonathan Nguy is a senior in the graduating class of 2019 at Evergreen Valley High School. He is a member of the 2nd violin section of the school’s String Orchestra. Jonathan is currently studying accounting at EVHS and manages the finances of Evergreen Music Mentors, helping make sure that our company can provide members of the community with great musical education at affordable prices.
